Egypt in October or February.
I am hoping to visit Egypt on my next big trip. I can travel in October, 2009 or Feb, 2010. At present, the package I am looking is available for either month. Which month, if any is better to visit. Weatherwise I am assuming things will be about the same. Prices are similar. Is there any significant difference between the two?
Thanks in advance.

We were in Egypt in Feb. and the weather was perfect. Cool in the mornings and evenings, warm during the day. It will be warmer the farther south you go. Feb. is the coolest month but in Luxor it will get into the 80's. Oct. may still be very hot and I think there is a greater chance of sand storms in Oct. than in Feb.

Sand storms tend to come in Feb, not Oct. But hey, with strange weather everywhere, who knows.
As to sunbathing, either time is good, with Oct being somewhat warmer. Luxor is always hotter than Cairo. But even with cooler temps in Cairo in Feb, once in the sun 65-degrees does feel more like 70+degrees.
Touring is always best done early or late in the day regardless time of year... simply more comfortable than when mid-day sun is beating down on you. Do have a wide-brimmed hat and SPF for exposed skin and always have bottled water and drink only this (never from the tap or shower water in mouth).
Enjoy whichever time you decide.
