I was wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to drive down from the Masai Mara to Amboseli National Park. How long would it take?

Thats not possible! Its a long distance from Amboseli to Masai Mara and the road to Mara is really bad.

Depending upon where in the Mara you are staying, it takes approx 5 - 6 hrs drive to Nairobi. Then another 4.5 - 5 hrs drive to Amboseli.

The roads are not in the best of conditions and it will be a long and very tiring drive.

You would have to stop overnight in Nairobi or even Lake Naivasha would be nice...

Not recommended to do it all drive in one day - 8/hrs minimum.

Some to choose to fly from the Mara arriving NBO a bit after 12N, where driver meets you to drive to Amboseli, arriving here late afternoon.

Otherwise, it's best to o/n in NBO. You can fly next morning or drive; if the latter, you'll be there in time for lunch. If the former - to fly, it's less than 1/hr and you have a full day of game drives.

If you haven't already booked your trip, I would go to Amboseli first. Then fly from the airstrip back to Wilson arriving at 9:00. The flight to the Mara departs at 10:00 and you'd be there by 10:45.
