OK, sorry to be so nosey - I thought it was some scandalous reason!

I booked a trip with Journey Beyond Travel - 13 days next spring. It will be my husband & myself with a driver going around the country & guides for half-days in different cities. Seems like a good compromise between completely wimping out with a group tour and doing an independent trip like yours.

LOL, nothing scandalous. Your trip sounds great; I have traveled extensively throughout the world and save for 3 or 4 trips, they have always been independent--just the way I like to travel. I think you will have a great time..00000

Don't be jealous; it does have its downsides--such as having to be responsible for every single thing and it gets tiring, especially when you are tired and don't want to have to think). And, it gets to be a drag not being able to share all the great things you see and do and experience. But mostly, it is wonderful....Yeah. I leave a week from tomorrow, but am still struggling to find a Riad in Fez that works with my budget....When do you go? I can't remember...

And, of course I really have to watch my back as far as safety...Don't get to walk alone on a beach at night, that type of thing...

Yes, the downsides you mention are the things that would make it not a good experience for me. I've traveled alone for work & can handle it but the fun of vacation for me is sharing with someone else.

We don't go until next May. I think I make plans a lot further out than most people - have been researching this trip for almost a year already!
