Cooncat's Zambia photos - new thread
Hi - I've divided my photos into two albums - one for Lower Zambezi and one for South Luangwa. I'm still going through them, but how many photos do you really want to see? LOL!
Trip report? someday soon!

Welcome back cooncat!
I'm so glad you reposted your pics. as I couldn't post on your last thread.
Anyhow, your first batch of pics. are wonderful - love the zebras. Looks like you've get a good grasp on the camera.
I couldn't get into the 2nd batch though, but do look forward to seeing them and a report if/when your ready.
I posted some of my trip photos while you were gone - if you go to the next to last picture you'll see my cooncat Waldo. Their under 'My Pictures' Couldn't get the thread to copy onto this thread.

Sharon -
These are AMAZING photos - you have an incredible photo eye!!
Do I take it from Sherry that this is a new camera?
I was just dishearteningly (spelling?) looking through my films that I took - so disapointing that I think it's time to shop around for a point & shoot digital. Jim had the new Nikon DS70 and he took incredible shots, so I don't feel too bad about taking 38 rolls of 'so-so' pictures, but at the same time, we have different views as to what to take on a vacation, and I think I will always need my own camera.
What kind of camera did you use? I'm sure it's in your prior posts, but easier to ask, right??
BTW, I couldn't get into the second link either.

Thanks guys. Which album are you accessing then? Lower Zam or S. Luangwa? I'll try to sort it out. When I click on this link is shows both and asks me to choose...bummer.

Lynda - thanks - I used the Canon 20D and the 100-400 L IS lens for the majority of my photos.
Kavey - I did get on pretty well with it. I struggled a bit with exposure - and sometimes I'd forget to reset the ISO (from twilight shooting to harsh daylight) but all in all I am pleased with the gear.
I also lost my hurricane blower that I had just bought in London so I could clean my sensor. It must have jostled out of my bag on a drive or something. I was shocked at the sensor dust on some of my shots! Live and learn!

you don't have the complete link for the second set of pics, only the link going to the main page of kodakgalley. that is why you can get in and we can't. the cookie on your computer is taking you there, it's taking me to my pics. Dennis

Yes sensor dust is the bain of us digital SLR users! I try and minimise lens changes and when I do change I do my absolute best to stop dust getting in - I usually have Pete hold the new lens as close to the body as possible, then I twist off the current lens and we quickly swap the new for the old - so the sensor is exposed for as little time as possible - and as I twist the new lens into place Pete will put the cap onto the other one ASAP. And same in reverse if he's changing his lens!
Oh and I have SOOO done that same thing on the ISO! Still do!
