Choose our tour company

Hello, it's my second time in Morocco and this time I have decided to take a 10 day itinerary to visit the Blue City, Fes, the Sahara, Marrakech, and Essaouira. Can you give me your feedback on whether this is too rushed? Also, I need a reliable tour company. I have checked online and found many companies with only 5-star reviews, but I'd prefer a recommendation based on personal experience.

Hi, Marcosviajes,

If you’re still looking, I can recommend Salem Karaoui and his company, Moroccan Family:
https://moroccan-family.com

He was our guide and driver on our trip in 2018 and was a wonderful, wonderful companion. I can’t recommend him highly enough. He and his family have built a successful company which also has a desert camp (which looks fantastic).

You might find my trip report interesting to help you plan:

Best Morrocan Tour Company

We also used Salem Karaoui as our guide for our 10 day private tour of all the places you wish to visit except for Essouria. This remains in our memory as one of the best travel experiences we ever had thanks to Karaoui and his Morrocan Family tour company. We have travelled the world and this was the BEST! Karaoui was amazing. We saw the pictures from progal on this forum in 2018 and got in touch with him. He was so helpful in accommodating our needs and providing his advice to create an unforgettable experience. We have raved about him to all our friends and family who consider a trip to Morocco. You cannot find a better guide. Happy Travels, Suzyg

Hi, does anyone have a direct email for Moroccan Family Tours? I couldn’t find one on their website . . . I sent them a note via the generic form on their site and didn’t hear back.

Thanks!!

Note a good sign, IMO.

I trust you know you can easily visit Morocco without a tour...

Thanks - they came so highly recommended though! 😊

We are hoping to do a private tour with a guide and a driver since my friend has only 7 or 8 days and I’m planning to stay longer.

The I see are reviews are at least 2 years old. Things change. I wouldn't work with anyone who doesn't respond to queries posted in accordance with their stated preferences for contact.

I did a family trip with this local tour company called " Tours in all Morocco", and they were amazing, and everything was well organized. Get in touch with them, and I am sure they will get back to you.

That is a lot to pack into 10 days! Visiting the Blue City, Fes, the Sahara, Marrakech, and Essaouira in that timeframe will involve quite a bit of travel time between locations.

Since it is your second time, you might find it more relaxing to pick one or two regions to focus on rather than crossing the whole country. If you stick with this plan, having a reliable driver is key to managing those long distances comfortably.

Thanks, Meryjane. Will reach out to them as well.

Did you have a guide and driver the whole time and did they personalize the trip for you?

I just posted my draft itinerary on this board 2 days ago should you want to take a look. 😊

Drishtisk, this is an older thread that I happened to jump on. Feel free to opine on my new thread!

Thanks!

I’m sure you used the form in his website so will find a direct email. In the meantime, here’s the site again. They are a very reputable company and excellent!

sueblue Sorry for the late reply! Yes, we had both the guide and driver with us for the entire trip. Once I told them the cities we wanted to visit and how many days we had in Morocco, they created a customized itinerary that fit our schedule.

Meryjane, did Tours in all Morocco select your accommodations or did you provide input or book on your own?

Progol, what about you? Did you let Moroccan Family handle everything? (My initial sense is that this company has become much busier since you used them.)

Thanks again!

Yes, they took care of everything, including the accommodations. I only shared the places I wanted to visit with my family, and they handled all the details.
