Cheetah hug and Kennedy
We are excited to report that we have finalized plans with Kennedy to take us on a tour in Nairobi on Sept 26th! He is even driving us to the airport at the end of the tour in order for us to catch our plane to Cape Town! Thanks to all Fodorites for recommending him. I know it will be a highlight for us.

Cdnfolks - glad to hear that you are all arranged and booked! Kennedy emailed me last week that none of his clients have been truned down for the cheetah hug (there was some question on another thread that said it may not be allowed any more).
You will love him - he is just the best!
Where in Canada do you live? (I'm in Vancouver)

I too, another Canadian from Toronto, am booked with Kennedy for August 29th. He will pick us up in the morning and take us around to the usual spots and then drop us off at the airport in the evening.
Lynda, since we will be meeting him after the safari ( so no space pressures) is there anything from here that he would like?

Cdnfolks- wow, Sarnia! I spent many a summer there when I was growing up (a l-o-n-g time ago....). I lived in Windsor and my best buddy moved to Sarnia so I would go and spend the summer with her. I loved it, it was in the mid 60's and it was a 'happening' kind of place then! Maybe still is???
I just really aged myself, didn't I??
Emdee, I'm glad you booked too, you will have a great time!
Let me give this some thought as to what he may like, Lynn had some great suggestions and I may be able to add to it!
He likes to read, I was reading the Constant Gardener at the time and I sent it off to him thru Caroline (from this board) when she goes in Feb as he mentioned to me that he loved to read. He probably has some down time too while waiting for people in the vehichle, so some paperbacks would be good.
I'll give this some more thought and get back to the post in a day or so...
You guys are all so kind to have thought of bringing gifts for him!

Thanks Lynda. I look forward to any and all suggestions. Sarnia is still a great destination especially in the summer. Next question...can you suggest a worthwhile charity/cause in Nairobi to offer a donation?

Hi Guys
I had to make a post as I do have something to share regarding a Cheetah Hug. Hari you will love this.
A couple of years back Celeste and I were in Thornybush and we went to a certain lodge which is not commercial but rather takes care of orphaned animals. As we arrived we parked our jeep at the entrance and went inside to see the place. On the perimiter of the lodge was a fence and on the other side was a re-habiliated Cheetah which we were allowed to go and see. It was amazing as we opened the gate to the wilds of Africa and spent time with this animal who just purred and rubbed up against us. Amazing to actually feel it but the story gets better.
.
.
.
After Celeste and I were patting and hugging this beautiful animal we went back into the lodge for coffee and when we went back to our 4x4 guess what. The Cheetah was sitting on my back seat. I have video of this.
Amazing experience.
