I don't know if they have the very best rates, but they're definitely competitive and they get all of their cars from the big car hire companies (Avis, Europcar, etc), depending on who has the best rate, and so the cars are always relatively new. Kristin

May I suggest that you book this through Tempest Car Hire who presently have excellent rates in town as far as the big name car hirers are concerned. http://www.tempestcarhire.co.za I would only suggest Tempest if you intend travelling outside a radius of 150Km outside of Cape Town in that they have pick up and drop off points outside of Cape Town. If you do not intending travelling out of Cape Town then I would suggest that you use Value Car Hire as their rates are always the ones to beat in Cape Town and their cars are always in an excellent state. http://www.valuecarhire.co.za,
Another car hire company that you could take a look at that I have found recently who seem to be very competitive is Vineyard Car hire. Unfortunatl;ey I have had no personal experience with the operation but with their prices being so competitive I would think that they are worth looking into as a car hire company. http://www.vineyardcarhire.co.za

Try also www.aroundaboutcars.com, I´ve been shopping around for best price for couple of weeks now and they seem to offer best rates.
