I'll keep an eye out for it here too ... but you nmight see it yourself while you're here this week! Where exactly are you going in Ireland?? If you read this before you return and you're anywhere in the West Coast drop me an e-mail on im_civil at hotmail.com - would love to meet up if you have time!

Darn, I just got back, didn't see your message before I left.

Firstly, thanks for all the nice comments and also the promise of beady eyes looking out for the publication...

I spent the week based in Leap in County Cork - that's between Skibereen and Clonakilty.

Lovely lovely week...

Welcome back - you picked a good week to come over - we had sunshine for the first time this summer!
Might catch up with you next time if you decide on the West Coast!

Thought I'd add it here rather than starting a new thread as it's not really relevant to Africa but might interest some London-based (or visiting) Fodorites.

An amateur photography club I belong to is hosting our first ever small gallery exhibition starting tomorrow (I spent some hours today helping to hang our work).

The theme is London by Londoners and there are 50 fantastic photos to view. The gallery is small but entrance is free and the show runs for two weeks.

I have 2 images in it.

Anyone is welcome to attend. If you want to come along this Wednesday (5th) evening (for the special preview evening with photographers, snacks and drinks) please email me for details.

Otherwise just turn up anytime and browse.

The gallery is in the library of the Chelsea Town Hall (upstairs).

Got it!

It's on the cover of a brochure introducing Viking Tours which is a new division of Viking River Cruises. It's the last thing I expected because previously, I was only aware that Viking offered river cruises in Europe and China. Apparently this is something entirely new that they're doing. I'm on their mailing list because I've taken one of their cruises before and am booked on another for next year.

I glanced at my mail when I got home today, recognized the company, set it aside for browsing later, then did a double take before realizing what was on the cover. I was nearly in hysterics blurting out "Kavey, Kavey, Kavey" while pointing to the cover and Mark couldn't understand what all the commotion was about

There's a downloadable brochure on their website, but I don't think it's the same one I received (I haven't checked). Mine is a 49 page brochure.

Anyway, email me and I'll be happy to send it to you!

I checked their downloadable brochure - my image isn't in it - which is what I'd expect as from what I understand they specifically licenced it for printed use only, not online/ digital.

Lynda,
Make sure your agent knows to request the 49 page brochure and not the full 80 page brochure as I don't think it's on that one.

Hey Kavey, guess what arrived in the mail today? Your photo on the Viking Tours booklet! It looks great and you should be proud! Sidenote, the Thomson Safaris book also arrived today with Andy Biggs' elephant photo on the cover. It too is stunning. Congrats to both of you.

WOW! I'd love to receive more than one copy and will, of course, pay postage to anyone who sends me one. I'd love to get about 4 or 5 so just email me please to arrange.

BTW I'm NOT in Andy Biggs' league at all - I'm guessing his cover is FANTASTIC!!!!
