Botswana Converter
Quick question for you Botswana experts. Is the adapter the big 3 prong like South Africa or is it like Kenya or something else? Is it one of the standard ones that comes in the basic kit or is it specialized like South Africa. Thanks, Ann

When I was in Botswana in 2006, some of the WS camps had gone to the European 2-prong round plugs. Check with your safari planner and ask them to check with the places you're staying, as it might vary from place to place.

hi aowens
according to
http://www.kropla.com/electric2.htm
the "south African" prevails, the British (like in Kenya) exists though rare
+ note ShayTay's tip
= take an all-around converter

If you are going to the Bots camps or lodges, just hand them over to the camp manager or staff - they will charge it in the office for you. You need not worry about pins and plugs....... they will be equipped.

Good luck with the charging issue. Definitely check if your camps will charge for you. The 6-paws even make you a backup CD for a nominal charge or for free.
When I first read your title, I thought you were trying to convince us all to chuck our plans to travel elsewhere in Africa and instead head to Botswana.
