Bon Voyage, Dennis!
Matnikstym/ Dennis,
Have a wonderful trip and hurry online when you get home to tell us ALL about it. Keep a detailed diary cos we'll have LOTS of questions!
Bon Voyage!
PS I know I don't do bon voyage threads for everyone but that's not so much because I am playing favourites (much) but because I have a memory like a sieve and forget who's leaving when. Dennis being Dennis, we're somewhat often reminded about this imminent departure!

thanks for your well wishes!! in about 48 hours from now I should be high above the Hawaiian Islands, traveling from Hilo to Honolulu, about a 45 minute flight, the first leg in my African adventure! Bags weigh in at 24#, 5# of that is torches for Barry at LRL that I offered to bring over for him, so the luggage worries were for nothing! Awaiting for the house sitter to come meet the "dog from hell", she's seen the luggage and is NOT too happy! Anyway, nothing else to do but pace!

Dennis,
Your time has finally come!
Hopefully Zambia gets a little more rain before your arrival to help cool things down a little.
Tell Lynsey at Chongwe that Alexsandra and Rocco say hello! Ask her to make you her banana cake...it is out of this world. Jody at Chongwe is said to do a fantastic Groucho Marx impression, but I am not sure you want to go there as it does involve a certain sort of puppetry.
You are going to love Luangwa River Lodge and will eat very well. Say hi to Barry & Tara for us, as well. If you are a bread fan, they bake the most fantastic breads at Luangwa River Lodge.
Finally, just as you would at a busy intersection, look both ways before you cross at Chongwe. There always seems to be at least one elephant in camp, and sometimes more!

o.k. how about Chevy's? El Torito? or Elephant Run? Yes Patty, it's like a Zippys to the mainlanders, which I don't understand, I can't stand their food! Anyway, thanks again for all your well wishes....1 hour 18 minutes until the ride to the airport comes!
