Patty, no epic journey this time, though from the time we leave Hilo and arrive in Johannesburg 42 hours will have passed. Itinerary is Hilo-Honolulu-San Francisco for an overnight, then SFO-JFK-JNB. 12 hour overnight in JNB, then a 1.5 hour flight to Upington where the adventure begins!

Michael, yes, this is the Kgalgadi trip-really looking forward to it after seeing someone's videos who just returned (you can see them at the sanparks.org arid parks forum.)

Glad you discovered sanparks.org -- are you going to tie the yellow ribbon to your car (I think its identification for readers of sanparks)? I saw several cars with the ribbon tied to a sideview mirror (at first, I thought it was a Tony Orlando fan club, but I asked and was told it relates to sanparks). That was in 2006 -- it may no longer be the cool thing to do.

Michael~I tied the yellow ribbon round the old mirror last year and met a few interesting people from the forum. Probably will do it this year if I can remember to get some ribbon.

Have yellow ribbon, will travel. Hope you meet many more interesting folks and have trememdous trip, Dennis!

Should be an awesome safari, especially for some nice predator sightings, will look forward to hearing all about it.
