I'm not sure I'd class it as a big announcement but, come on folks, there's nothing wrong with a little hyperbole now and then!

Personally, I find it vaguely interesting because it did idly cross my mind that the name didn't really work when they moved into India.

But, at the end of the day, it's just a rebranding exercise, the kind that so many organisations go through these days.

The move into Latin America is the most interesting part of the information so far.

I think I know where that lodge (or lodgeS) in South America might be.

Since Tuckeg mentionel Lynn... clould it be the Pantanal? I certainly hope so, because I visited that area too and the wildlife is phenomenal. Especially the bird life is beyond any comparison.

But few ranches treat it the way it should be (or even engage in tourist activities), so there's a lot of work to be done there in order to create a habitat where jaguars thrive (to name but one example).

Here's one person that has got his fingers crossed.

And to any CCA person reading this; if I'm right, do I win a free trip?

(can't blame a guy for trying...)

Ciao,

J.

I detect some sleuthing. Whatever it is and wherever it is, I just hope I can afford it.

Sleuthing, lol... I'm not a secret admirer, Lynn. *

I just recalled that you had been there too. We both put up a trip report.

Ciao,

J.

* Altough you can always send me a picture of yourself. LOL, OK I hope I don't get a restraining order now.

Haven't been on the CC Africa site for awhile and noticed they are offering private homesteads. Is this part of the "Big News" or is this old news.
Anyway, anyone with a spare R4.5million to lend? If the rand keeps going up a 6,000sqft home in the African wilderness will be about the same price as a 1 bedroom NYC apartment.
Regards,
Eric

Didn't mean to imply I have secret admirers, , I'm just impressed with the detective skills.

But if you'd like a photo, PixelPower, or anyone else out there, I've included two very attractive shots recently in some trip reports. In one I have on a a sexy mosquito net and even sexier waders, in another my fleece balaclava gives me the appearance of "hooded" seal. Not the best look on a shark boat.

If the winner of the CCAfrica contest takes me as a guest, I'll pack both outfits.

These are a good deal more expensive than ZAR4.5 million.

http://www.africanhomesteads.com/

What sort of person could possibly want to buy this, Phinda has more than enough accomodation alleady a further 15 "homesteads" each for 8 people is way over the top. Has Tara run out of money for her st**h?

Sniktawk,
sh*t is within my vocabulary range but I can't figure out st**h. Is that a South African term that is not used in polite company?

Tom,
I can start shoving the waders and mosquito net into my duffel now. Or I could mail them to Carolyn since once size fits all.

Good thing I did not ship my balaclava off to Carolyn. I needed it today at work and I work inside. There was no heat and it's cold now where I live. I had it with me because I wore it under my bike helmet on my ride to work. I only kept it on when I was in an area removed from other people. It was freezing!

In a few more days we'll all know the big news and maybe a new name.

Surely this isn't all about CCA changing their name?

Is this the big news?

Kind regards

KayeN,
No, the big news is about me and my waders.

I just got an email that the name change is Oct 30. Name change and Halloween (for those of us who do that) might be too much for one day so maybe CCAfrica opted to precede Halloween.

Tom,
I'll debut in my outfits to help celebrate the name change.

Anybody want to guess what the new name will be?

CC Wildlife
CC Worldwide
See See Wildlife
CC Habitat
CC Ecotravel
CC Global
CC Global Green
CC Green Quest
CC R Us

Hi Lynn

Sorry, I clearly missed the big news of the waders! Having seen Dad in them many years ago, it really is not something I need to be seeing again!

Is the name change a "big announcement" or is it something else? Changing the name seems neither here nor there really, so I am guessing it is something else!

If just the name change Lynn, I think the waders are too special and should only be brought out for a more significent announcement.

Kind regards

Kaye

Eee, that's lame. And I too thought of Bath, Bed & Beyond and we don't even have that store here!
No doubt they spent a fortune on consultants to come up with that name too!
Fortunately for them, it's their product and reputation that counts!
