After visiting the BK for sunset viewing I was curious what suggestions for the best viewing of the Fountains? In addition to tickets to Burj Khalifa, they also offer fountain boardwalk tickets. Curious to understand what the fountain boardwalk is and is it really worth the price?

Are there nearby restaurants that offer excellent fountain viewing? I also read that you can take a boat that sails nearby the fountains?

Yes, there are some places that will give you the best fountain view. Places like Thiptara, The Dubai Dancing Fountain, Karma Kafé and many places are like that will give you the most beautiful fountain view so you can go and enjoy there.

There are several restaurants in Souk Al Bahar which will offer a good view. Also, Ristorante at Armani Hotel offer a nice view although all of these restaurants can be quite expensive. I'm not sure what the 'boardwalk tickets' are to be honest. There are also a couple of cafes in Dubai Mall that will offer views although you can expect them to be quite busy.
