BA removes Nairobi from "Latest Flight News"

I posted this on Trip Advisor as well, but just in case anyone here is interested:

I am due to fly to nairobi on Feb 4th on British Airways. For the last few weeks i have been checking their website under the "latest flight news" section to get updates on flights to nairobi. While they were still operating flights, they were offering refunds or changes for those due to fly out up to certain dates. It would be extended weekly as the riots continued. I am actually happy to say that it appears they have removed this posting. I have been going back and forth about whether or not i should even go to Kenya, but since BA didnt extend the terms of the refunds to my dates and the posting has been removed, it looks like im going! This with the latest update from the FCO makes it seem like things really are starting to get back on track!

... and the British FCO has cancelled their "non-essential" travel dictate. Brits and others on charter packages out of Europe to Mombasa specifically, were up in arms and writing to their reps. Hopefully, with this change, the flights recently cancelled will be back on schedule.

If you have any doubts whatsoever about going to Kenya I would press BA for a refund. Exceptions to policies are made every day. Did you read the papers this week and see the pictures? The Airlines might be back on track but the Country certaintly isn't. Plan B would be my option.

Perhaps because of the protests resuming on Thursday?
