Maybe if you over-anaesthetize it, it will die on its own. Just don't tell anyone about it!

Wow...that's pretty messed up. Seems like that's pretty valuable information for people looking for a TA to be able to access. Regardless of how, when or why the circumstances got to the point they did, the lack of communication is pretty inexcusable in my book. We put A LOT of faith in these people and trust them with A LOT of $$$ to book these trips for us, and to just be ignored for weeks on end???...hmmmm

I'm just glad I saw all of that mess before it was deleted. Will tuck that away in the memory files, for sure.

Imelda, from what I can gather, quite a few of the posts in the "Where's Rocco" thread have been deleted. Some of them probably were leaning toward the flame-bait side of things, to be completely honest, but....

There may be more to the "deletion" topic, but that's the part of it that I noticed.

Thanks going2africa, I see it now!!! Even one of my posts on the thread is gone... wow, didn't think it was controversial!!! ... Guess I can consider myself 'hand slapped'.

Was there any other post after Roccos that got zapped or did everyone just stop posting??
Wonder why they just ppicked out posts and didn't zap the whole thread???

Not quite, Moira - you defend you right to express your PERSONAL opinion.

There were two separate posts, Nyama...the personal opinion one and one which was just a link to the thread. I can understand deleting the personal opinion one since they deleted Rocco's accusation of libel, but why delete the one with the link?

Rocco's post implying he didn't even know the people complaining about his ervice was left up, the subsequent post where he did in fact acknowledge they were his clients was deleted. So when that thread is read, you have the distinct impression that Marc, Debbie etal are lying and all part of some vast conspiracy.
On the other thread, he claimed that all agents paid the deposit with the final payment, when challenged by other TA's he backed away from it, again deleted to protect....who exactly? As far as I can see, it protects Rocco. Imagine if you have paid a deposit, and he is holding it rather than paying the lodge, what happens when he has personal problems and goes awol. Oh, sorry, he didn't do that, it was just a conspiracy.

All posts where a third person made a statement regarding not using the service of a certain party have been removed.

Your posts with the link were combined with such statements.

Maybe thit_cho can help? My knowledge of the English language is not good enough to explain it better...

I've posted the link back to that thread...just a link. Let's see what happens.

I agree with Napamatt...the pattern is disturbing...

I dont think anyone here will be booking with Rocco going forward... and will hopefully think twice about dealing with a home based agent.

To be honest, he probably doesnt care... as long as he can use his sham of a web site to be able to travel at agent prices, than he is probably happy. Hopefully the companies in Africa soon follow suit like most other destinations in the rest of the world, and only allow certified full time agents the ability to 1. market their products and services and 2. travel at an agent reduced price.

I would not send money to Rocco, Julian, or anyone else on here who markets their services from their home.
