Air Botswana; monopoly on Maun -> has is ended?

I've got axtually the same question as cj in this thread; http://www.fodors.com/forums/threads...p;tid=34998394

I think this deserves a separate thread though...

Any news on this?
Are any other airlines flying JNB to Maun by now?
Or is the monopoly still in place?

Thanks,

J.

The word here in Maun is they have joined with Airlink and the new systems will be in place soon.
Realy hope so as it will bring the rates down and the flights more reliable....

Hi Bots,

Changing the topic, how is the current weather in Maun? Cold mornings? The inner pans in the mopane woodlands drying up slowly?

Thanks in advance,
Hari

Hi Hari,
The weather is perfect. you can try http://wwwa.accuweather.com/world-fo...N&metric=1
It is very accurate and we use it for getting a idea for the weather on the weakends.

Bots,

Who will join with Airlink? Air Botswana?

Then it's actually still some sort of monopoly. Or am I missing something?
