Agafay or Palmier for camel ride with young kids in Morocco?

Hello! We are planning a trip to Barcelona and Marrakech for next March with our kids who will be 9.5, 6.5 and 4.5 at the time of travel. We are tailoring the trip around the fact that we will have our children with us and trying to make it as kid-friendly as possible. We want to incorporate a camel ride into our stay in Marrakech and have some people telling us that we should do it in the Agafay desert as an excursion and others telling us that it’s unecessary to travel 45 minutes outside the city to Agafay when we could still have a fun and interesting experience with our kids doing the camel ride through the sand and palm groves in Palmier which is just outside the city center. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Agafay is not a desert btw, you need more time to do a real Desert one which requires at least 4 days/3nights, so why don't do you the Camel ride at The Palmerie area better then driving all the way to Agafay and call it a day a trip.
Agafay if you check it online you'd find that it's just a semi arid landscape outskirts of Marrakech withing an hur drive from Marrakech for doing the Camel ride, while the Palmerie area has a beautiful palm grove land, surrounded with resorts, people can do camel ride, Quad Biking as well as you can get a little walk with the camels for about half an hour or more depends on how long you'd like to go for.

I agree with Alex, have the ride in the Palmeraie.

And yes, Agafay is just dry soil rather than a desert: Feb 2012: Agafay 'desert', snow, wildboar and the Almond Festival
