Dinosaurs for Kids
We will shortly be in Morocco for a 2 week family vacation. I have a 6 1/2 year old Grandson who absolutely loves anything having to do with Dinosaurs.
I remember something about footprints a couple of hours south of Essouira where we will be but cannot find any info today? We will also be visiting Marrakesh, Fez, Chefchaouen, and Moulay Idriss, so if anyone has any ideas for me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, found it. Site d'Anza Beach | Sites empreintes | LES DINOSAURES
Funny enough I knew there was a surfing break in that area called Dinosaurs, didn't make the connection. Ha!
Gandini is a real expert in Morocco, his interests in prehistory and the French Foreign Legion overlap (and are much greater) than mine. He has an apartment in the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate.

I’m having difficulty reaching anyone who can confirm whether we can “visit”. We’d be driving 3 hours one way just to see this as my Grandson loves all things Dinosaur, but don’t want to make the trip till I get more info from someone. Email address I found at the University of Ibn has come back. No answer from Embassy here in the states. Surf shop in the area no answer.
At a loss as to what to do next.

It's on the surfing beach and according to this site the footprints are visible at low tide, see Surf spot profile: Anza, aka Dinosaurs - Surf Star Morocco
Here's another write-up with some photos: https://www.leconomiste.com/article/...es-authentifie
You need to be there near low water so check the tide tables, https://www.tide-forecast.com/locati...o/tides/latest
If you visit, please let us know how you get on.
