Prices could be lower in June which is the end of the long rains, but not in August. Jul-Sep is generally the period when you can see the migration in the Mara, accordingly this will also be the busiest and most expensive time to visit (outside of the Christmas/New Year holidays).

Prices can be lower in June at some properties, as Patty mentions, but not all. And if traveling in June, I would include the Western Serengeti, as you see JazzDrew did on their itinerary.

On day 6 with early drive to Arusha - would this give us any time for seeing Kilamanjaro or is it straight to airport and go?

csuss - Doubt you'd miss an elephant if it was smack dab in the middle of the road? Kili is "just there." Hard to miss, though depending on whether it's covered in clouds will you be able to see the top.
