Prices could be lower in June which is the end of the long rains, but not in August. Jul-Sep is generally the period when you can see the migration in the Mara, accordingly this will also be the busiest and most expensive time to visit (outside of the Christmas/New Year holidays).

Thanks - I'm going to spend some time this weekend getting my ducks (or in this case elephants) in order and will compare all the itineraries you have suggested. I'll let you know what I come up with.
