Isram Tours to Egypt - small group OK?

I'm a solo traveller tentaively booked with Isram Tours on their Ultimate Egypt Tour for early April. Currently, there are only two other people booked. I'm well travelled, but tour groups I've travelled with in the past have been 15+, providing lots of opportunity to mix with others. I'm very motivated for my Egypt trip, but wonder if I may end up by myself, should the other two travellers want to dine or explore on their own.
I'm reconsidering booking with Globus, but really prefer the itinerary with Isram Tours.
Any advice? Has anyone taken the Ultimate Egypt tour with Isram Tours? Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hello! I am leaving March 12th for the Isram "Treasures of the Nile" and there are only 5 people, including me, on this tour. I will let you know how things work out, but having been on many organized tours from 26-45 people, a small group has many advantages. You can get in and out of the sights very quickly and you don't have to wait for the large group to assemble to get on to the next stop. Of course, the amount of socializing can be impacted, but I am not on the trip strictly to "buddy-up".

When are you booked? My daughter and I will be on that tour on the 17th. We just booked today. It looks wonderful.

Hello 10SNut,

I'm considering the April 17th departure as well--the tour sounds great and seems to include all of the places I wanted to visit! I'm travelling from Toronto -- which city are you and your daughter travelling from?

I will be going to Richmond, Va. to connect with my daughter. I live in a small town in NC. If you are considering this I would do it ASAP. Would love to meet you!

Grief, we saw a Globus and an Insight tour groups on our travels this month in Egypt and they and the guide looked bored to tears. Keep with your small group!!!!!!!!! You will learn sooo much more and have a fabulous time.

The better guides prefer to do smaller groups. With the larger ones, they feel more like administrators than guides. With a smaller group you will get to know the guide better & he will be more able to fine tune the tour to your desires.

We did a 2-week Isram tour of Egypt in 2001 (I don't remember what it was called). We had a total of 8 people in our group (including the two of us). We absolutely loved it and thought that a small group was so much better for learning about the monuments. Our guide, Hesham Solimon, was really excellent.
I would not worry about being in too small of a group -- I think that's better than having too many people!
