1st trip to africia

Has anyone used or know anything about Eyes on Africia for a tour in Botswana. I was planning on going around Oct but after hearing back that is was super hot then looking for a better time to go, any recomendations? I have more than 8 days but was looking for a trip 8-13 days, We want to spend some time exploring by ourselves, we are coming from the USA and will be in Africia for 3 weeks.

Thanks for all your responces, I would like to get this trip nailed down soon.

I've used Eyes on Africa more than once and would recommend them. They are knowledgeable about southern Africa and can offer you suggestions and information according to your interests. As a practical matter, their location in the US makes it much easier to contact them and to make arrangements for payments.

I used them in June-July 2007 to book Phinda and Mala Mala in South Africa. Everything from the first contacts to the planning with its usual twists and turns and revisions to the actual trip was top notch.

They got me the Phinda guide I requested for the entire week, arranged 3 rhino tracking outings, and obtained the no single supplement room at Mala Mala for me for 4 nights.

They were very conscientious about keeping me updated on how the airport construction changed the location of one of the air charter kiosks. I would certainly use them again.

If you are going to spend some time on your own exploring, I would think Cape Town would be a great place or Kruger in South Africa. Self drives in Namibia are also common.

Eyes on Africa offers all the Wilderness mobiles if that's what you were looking at for your 8-13 days, which would be good. I did one and would love to do more. I think they do some of their own photo trips as well.

Other times besides Oct? See below. I've always gone July or August and liked it.

We used Eyes on Africa and were very happy with them. They booked us into a Wilderness package, which did not realize was a WS package at the time, but we were very pleased with it. hey also booked us into a Kwando camp, so they are not locked into WS, but I think they will push that first.

The first thing that caught my eye was their excellent website.

I would happily use them again. And, I would very happily go back in December - I thought that our wildlife sightings were wonderful, and the weather was great.

One should consider the Ker&Downey, Desert& Delta and Sanctuary Lodges camps too. These all have excellent locations. The Wilderness Mobile expeditions are great value for money though and allow one a more authentic experience than staying in a lodge. That said there is a great little trip run by Ker&Downey called 'the Kanana Mokoro trail' you basically camp out on an island with our guide in the middle of the Delta - Bliss - and far from the maddening crowd.

The below are all excellent Africa Operators... and they all sell Wilderness Safaris.
