Boogie boarding in the Caribbean
Hello,
My husband got us some cool boogie boards for Christmas. I’ve been in the process of planning a trip to the Caribbean and now I’d like to find a place to use our new toys.
We’ve been thinking of the BVI’s. Is it too calm there?
Thanks
Terri

In the BVI's Tortola has some nice beaches that have waves suitable for boogie boarding. FYI - Virgin Gorda's beaches are, for the most part, all on the Caribbean side of the islannd and are normally too calm for boogie boarding.

Thanks A_Traveller. Do you happen to know some of the names of the beaches or the towns? We stayed at Cane Garden Bay years ago and don't really want to go back there plus if I remember right it was pretty calm.
How about Anegada or Jost Van Dyke?
Thanks
Terri

We were at Anegada in Jan/Feb a couple years ago. Flash of Beauty beach had waves high enough but don't think you would want your hubby out in them. The current was wild and one native almost got in trouble in it.
Loblolly - I don't think so.
Cow Wreck Beach - not sure.
You may want to post on tripadvisor.com. Anegadageorge is on there a lot and seems to be a wealth of info on Anegada.

Terri, you should read the recent post on this board called something like Our Recent Travel Log, which features a long trip report on Barbados and lots of nice photographs. Surfing and boogieboarding were priorities for the family who posted the log.
