Travel from Palermo airport to Cefalu

Hi, does anyone have any advice on transportation in Sicily from the Palermo airport to Cefalu? I am unable to drive a manual transmission car (unfortunately, as this seems to be the only option in Europe!) and was looking for another alternative. I was quoted 80 euros for a car service - is there public transport? Thanks!

There sure is. Take a bus or shuttle train from the airport to the Central train station in Palermo. Be careful of just picking up a taxi at the airport - I got a taxi from the airport just to Palermo train station and he charged me 80 euro!

There is a direct train from Palermo to Cefalu. Takes about 45 mins. Bit of an old train, but does the job.

the train line runs right by the Palermo airport - not into it i think but there must be a station right by it and thus you could take train from airport via Palermo to Cefalu - Cefalu is a very cute seaside town!

Could not be EASIER, and you can do it for 9 Euros per person:

1. Prestia e Comande Airporter Bus: 5 Euros to Palermo Stazione Centrale. Service every 30 minutes, 55 minutes travel time. Board directly outside arrivals terminal. Purchase ticket from driver. Air conditioned, reclining seats.

2. Walk across the street to the central train station

3. Train to Cefalu: 4 Euros on local trains, 7.85 Euros on either of the two morning ICplus trains. Local trains don't have air conditioning. ICplus do. Travel time: 45 minutes to 1 hour.

DO NOT take a taxi. You'll get scalped!

I might as well tag along on this one since I'm assuming the taxi scalping advice applies at the ferry arrivals too.

Is there a bus from the ferry arrivals to the Palermo central train station?

Thanks!

There is indeed bus service from the Stazione Marittima to the Stazione Centrale, but I don't know the bus number without doing research on the web. Here's where to look:

www.amat.pa.it

A taxi should cost about 15 Euros, maybe less.
