How to get from Livorno Port to Pisa
We are docking in Livorno and want to visit Pisa. Our cruise line (Celebrity) doesn't include any shuttle service to the city. Hence, from what I read, it is about 20 Euro. each way to get the train. Any other suggestions for getting to Pisa.

To get to the Leaning Tower don't stop at Pisa Centrale station but the next one north on the coastal line - Pisa S Rossore - as it is within a short walk of the Tower area. Pisa Centrale is a long walk or expensive taxi ride.
These are mainly regional trains that do not have seat reservations and there is no need to buy ahead of time - just buy at the station a return ticket (two one-ways) and cancel your own ticket in cancelling machines before boarding or it will not be valid (on regional trains this is)- for lots of info on Italian trains check www.seat61.com; www.budgeteuropetravel.com and www.ricksteves.com. Check www.bahn.de/en for schedules from Livorno Centrale to Pisa S Rossore.

You may
1) take train, as suggested above,
or
2) take public bus No 10 from the bus stop behind the cathedral in Livorno city center,
or
3) share a taxi for 120Euro round-trip per taxi with 2-hour wait time included.
See http://shorebee.com/en/italy/pisa/from-livorno-to-pisa
for details.
Also, familiarize yourself with the important places in Livorno:

Even if you take the train to Pisa Centrale, the walk is not all that far (although Pisa S. Rossore is closer) to the tower. There are also local buses that run from Centrale to the tower for a little over 1 euro.

Whether you like it or not, I suspect your ONLY reasonable way to get to either the rail station or that bus station in Livorno mentioned above is to take a taxi.
You need to undertand exactly where the ship is going to dock and that is in basically a cargo ship area, not the typical "cruise port" situation.
There may be some local bus route you could use to get INTO Livorno "downtown" itself but that bus is going to be a walk from where the ship is docked which is why I suggested taking a taxi and as I said, if and when one becomes available.
The taxi drivers know when the ship will be docked and they will undoubtedly be nearby.

I am very impressed by the site rome2rio.com
They give every option available. For what you are considering have a look at - https://www.rome2rio.com/s/Port-of-L...ntrale-Station
