Trip to Sandiego and Disneyland

We have kids 9 and 10. we are going to Sandeigo and staying for a week for husbands work but are going to see the sights. I am think of legoland and seaworld, Zoo. We are thinking of going to disneyland too. Is it worth it to drive all that way and spend that extra money or should we just stick to sights in Sandiego? Which sights are best for 9 and 10 year old girl and boy?

If the kids have never been to Disneyland, I would choose that over LegoLand (which I think is better for younger kids). SeaWorld is okay, but if it's busy it's a ZOO...

and speaking of Zoos, it's a good outing, and also since located in Balboa Park, you can have a more varied experience and fun for everyone. When my niece and nephew visited me in SD their number one priority was the beach, and enjoyed it more than SeaWorld.

We just got back from there. It's a long drive and traffic is a nightmare...If you plan on going, drive up and spend at least 2 days at DL....you really cant drive up, spend the day then drive back...it would be a VERY long day! My 6 and 8 year old's liked Legoland and they thought sea world was lame....may have been the weather, it was a bit cold at Seaworld.

We use to do this trip when our daughter was younger. We would stay at the Town and Country Resort in San Diego because they had a package that included breakfast, tickets to Sea World and the zoo plus a nice, clean room that had a grassy area for our daughter to play on.
If you have a full week to spend I suggest sticking with Sea World and the Zoo then taking in the sights of San Diego as a family. Old Town is very fun, Balboa park is wonderful and you might enjoy just romping around the area as a family rather than facing the crowds at D-land. Especially if you are planning on attending D-land in the next couple of weeks. We have passses and we never go during Spring Break. It is just super crazy.
Just my thoughts, hope it helps a bit and enjoy your time with your family. I LOVE San Diego. I have spent many, many happy times there!

I grew up in San Diego and lived in Orange County for 13 years. We went to DL all the time from San Diego for the day... I would pass on Lego Land and go to DL with your son's ages.
