San Fernando

San Fernando is surrounded by popular wineries, handsome hotels, colonial estancias, and beautiful nature spots. The city is a convenient stopping point alongside Ruta 5. The gateway to Colchagua Valley, San Fernando city has an attractive plaza and all the necessary conveniences, although the main attractions lie in the surrounding rural areas, vineyards, and fruit plantations. Streets are colorfully lined with fruit stands selling eye-catching citrus fruits, melons, and ripe avocados. West of San Fernando is where the wine route to Santa Cruz begins, but there is much to discover toward the Andes, too.
