Fodor's Review

Regularly named among the best restaurants in South America and the world, D.O.M. is synonymous with exclusivity in São Paulo's gastronomic circles—its popularity is limited only by a self-imposed cap on the number of customers served. This is some of the finest food to be had on the continent, with prices as dizzying as celebrity chef Alex Atala's inspired cooking. The focus is on Brazilian fare with added flair, such as filhote (Amazonian catfish) with tapioca in tucupi(manioc root) sauce and sweet potato in a Béarnaise made from maté, a South American tea. Try the tapas-esque tasting menu for the full, unforgettable experience, at R$380 for four courses, or R$527 for eight. Make your reservations at least a week in advance.
