Daniel Maman Fine Art

Daniel Maman Fine Art Review

This gallery space is stark, but its prime location on Avenida del Libertador (the local equivalent of New York's Fifth Avenue) hints of the riches within. The artists in Maman's collection read like a checklist of Argentinian art history: there are works by Quinquela Martín, Berni, Pettorutti, and Xul Solar, to name a few. As well as established contemporary greats like Liliana Porter and Guillermo Kuitca, expect avant-garde artists like the Mondongo collective, whose wacky collages mix resin-encased fiambres (cold cuts) and cookies, plasticine, and X-rated photos. London's Tate Modern and New York's MoMA both snapped up a work for their permanent collections.
