The brainchild of art advocate and noted local architect George Suyama, this gallery exhibits mostly large-scale, site-specific installations that are often mathematical in nature (and at times a little obtuse). A recent exhibit entitled "All things long to persist in their being" consisted of timbers arranged to replicate the nautilus shell, one of nature's most studied designs. Unlike many of Seattle's galleries, this is not a commercial venue—it's kept afloat solely through grants and donations—which is just another reason to take a stroll through the lofty space.
