Fodor's Finds Hotels
Book NowEdgewater Review
Perched over Elliott Bay—with the waves lapping right underneath it—the Edgewater affords spectacular west-facing views of ferries and sailboats, seals and seabirds, and the distant Olympic Mountains. The whole hotel has a rustic-chic, elegant hunting-lodge look, with plaid rugs and fabrics and peeled-log furnishings. Many rooms have gas fireplaces. All that being said, the hotel has fallen short on service and guest satisfaction of late, and guests looking for luxury should probably head to the Four Seasons or Hotel 1000. There is a significant price jump here between the waterfront rooms and the waterfront premium rooms—unless you want a little more space, save your money. City-view rooms are very expensive and probably not worth it unless you love the hotel's aesthetic or want to stay where the Beatles once slept in 1964. If you just want a taste of the hotel, stop into the elegant Six Seven restaurant for indoor-outdoor seating with a bay vista.

Historic hotel on the water, meaning rooms are dated, and musty although you can definitely say they have character.
Try to upgrade to a water view if you can; otherwise you will be stuck in a small room overlooking the parking lot and train tracks.
Service was mediocre. Location cannot be beat if you want to be in Belltown or on the waterfront. But it is a hike uphill to go into downtown from there. There is a shuttle available to take you into downtown if the schedule works for you. Otherwise it is a quick 5 minute taxi ride.
Overall there are so many great choices in Seattle, I cannot imagine anyone actually wanting to stay here, but if you want to be on the water, this location can't be beat. -

I stayed here as part of a vacation package. Asked for an upgrade upon arrival and got a water/pier view. Rooms were nice and rustic, but with modern bathrooms. Beautiful view of bay from lobby. This hotel is within walking distance of several restaurants and attractions in downtown and Belltown. If you're up to it, can even walk to the space needle. They also had a shuttle available for free to areas within a certain distance. Good value for a good hotel in a good location. Would stay here again.

We paid New York City prices for a waterfront view and got only that. The room was fairly small for a king sized room but the Puget Sound view was incredible. Other than that the service was not good. No room service in the early evening due to a wedding. Mini-bar not refilled for two days despite a call to the fron desk. A view is great but some service to back it up should be expected

We stayed three nights at the Edgewater and loved our stay. We had a panoramic waterview room which had nice fireplace and was well appointed. Comfy robes that I enjoyed each morning as I sipped coffee and watched the ferries glide by from our window.
Breakfast was included each morning at Six Seven, a lovely restaurant with beautiful views of Elliott Bay, we also enjoyed Calamari appetizers here one afternoon. The hotel also offers a shuttle that took us everywhere we wanted to go, they were courteous and effiecient when we called to pick us up.
The concierge was amazing, they arranged for a complimentary limo to pick us up and take us to dinner at Salty's on Alki Beach. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Seattle in the future.
