Hotel Deca Review

Within blocks of UW, this 1931 property has been restored to its original art-deco elegance. Guest rooms are individually decorated in shades of brown with jewel-tone accents and striped window treatments. Beds have tall headboards done in vibrant colors and fabrics, and some rooms have blue velvet furniture and deep soaking tubs. Sky Level rooms have great views of the Cascades and the skyline to boot. The elegant District Lounge restaurant serves a mix of tasty comfort dishes, snacks, and upscale Pacific Northwest cuisine. A popular choice for Seattle International Film Festival participants, guests staying during the fest might even catch a glimpse of independent film stars at the bar.

This hotel is misrepresented: it does NOT include free parking, and does NOT include a continental breakfast. The restoration is superficial only in the public areas, which are dark and uncomfortable. Our room was less than 200 sqft, with cracking paint on its original doors, dim bedside lighting, the bathroom was tiny with 1930's plumbing, no ventilation, no counter space, a cracked and patched toilet tank cover. The elevators are wobbly and slow. Alltogether a bad experience and not worth the price.
