Fodor's Expert Review L'Enfant Cafe-PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Adams Morgan Cabaret

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

This French-flavored café boasts the most sidewalk seating in Adams Morgan, superb for watching the world go by at the intersection where Adams Morgan meets Dupont Circle. Inside, things get very intimate with a corner transformed on occasion to offer cabaret. The mood is downright bacchanalian, however, during Saturday's "La Boum" brunch that gets the nightlife started long before the sun goes down and has D.C.'s bohemian set clamoring to get in, making reservations mandatory. Dancing on the bar during La Boum with a sparkler in one hand and a tambourine in the other is optional---but hardly discouraged. The event is so popular, it spawned a weekly Saturday night offshoot, La Boum Boum Room, "A Pansexual Paradise" where reservations are also required.
