  Great sushi

  This place has great sushi, as good as any I've had, period -- very fresh and lovingly assembled. Also had an excellent eggplant appetizer. Very highly recommended.

  Prepare to be amazed!

  I've been returning here and only here (except when others INSIST somewhere else -- it makes me cry) for some very clear and good reasons. Firstly, I've followed Takashi from the last place he worked, Shogun. He has the proper training as a chef with traditional training, unlike so many other places that the ignorant seem to love. It is a fusion yes, however there is a very distinct traditional menu along with the American style sushi rolls. Not only is the atmosphere poppin', but that is why I docked my service score...its ALWAYS packed. On Valentine's Day, I spent two hours waiting, and about a quarter that at minimum any other night. The prices are SOOOO cheap compared to the local fakes, and give another darn good reason to go there over others (if there isn't a wait). The food is simply breathtaking. The display is always aesthetically pleasing, and the fish is the freshest in town (again, anyone who says otherwise must be under the influence of something). I hear negative reviews and I wonder where they are coming from and why... there is no where better that I have been, in Utah, or any other Western US state. The staff is very chic and friendly, fast and knowledgeable. The menu is extensive, but I still have regulars. To name a few, the spicy mussel shooters are great, the T&T (spicy!), and since Shogun, my favorite, Takashi's own Hakazushi("The Box"), which is made with 3 types of fish. The fish is so fresh, there is never a bad flavor, and always...ALWAYS "melts in your mouth". ...Seriously, melts.
  
  I don't know what else to say, but am extremely angered with any fool willing to talk down on this restaurant. Not only is it my favorite sushi restaurant, but also my favorite restaurant. 6 out of 5 stars for me!
  
  Don't even think about going anywhere else... I've been to Tsunami, Shogun, Happy Sumo, Mikado, Ichiban, Ginza, and several other local places. While their chefs may be good, there is no one as professional and experienced as Takashi in the state, or possibly even the region. I hope you choose this place, as you may become addicted!

  Some of the Best Sushi in the US!

  I have lived in Los Angeles, Boston and Atlanta. Takashi is BY FAR the best sushi I have had. Not sure where the other reviewer ate but there is no way he was talking about Takashi. The service is incredible (even when totally packed as it usually is)and food is fresh and delicious. The New Zealand salmon is incredible and I love their yellowtail. The rolls are creative and wonderful...try the T&T, Imagine or any of their specials. We go there usually once a week and even go there with people that don't eat sushi since their cooked food is wonderful as well. For dessert, coconut tapioca, flourless chocolate cake or the crepe are all wonderful.
