Fodor's Expert Review The Piggy Bank
Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.
Beacon's restaurant scene has yet to catch up with its vibrant arts arena, but this neighborhood mainstay dishes out slow-cooked Southern barbecue favorites. It's not Memphis, but the sweet-potato fries, hickory-smoked ribs, and barbecued pulled pork over tossed greens have won over the stomachs of some locals. The restaurant occupies a circa-1880 bank building where the vault now serves as wine cellar. The dining room, with glowing copper sconces and pink-brick walls, is open and airy but visually warm.
