Mohonk Preserve

Mohonk Preserve Review

The 6,400-acre preserve has more than 60 mi of hiking trails and carriageways, as well as four trailheads: at the visitor center, on U.S. 44/Route 55; West Trapps, about 1.3 mi east of the visitor center; Coxing, 1 mi off Clove Road (about ¼ mi east of West Trapps); and Spring Farm, on Mountain Rest Road near the entrance to the Mohonk Mountain House. The mountain views are spectacular. A visit to the preserve, which accommodates picnickers, walkers, hikers, bikers, rock climbers, and horseback riders, gives you access to the adjacent Mohonk Mountain House grounds (with some restrictions) and the Minnewaska State Park Preserve.
