To view one of the valley's little-known but fascinating attractions, turn east onto Hatchery Road in Dexter. One mile down you'll find the Dexter National Fish Hatchery & Technology Center, a facility with the noble mission of studying, propagating, and possibly salvaging endangered species of warm-water fish like the pike minnow (once known as the Colorado squawfish, and once common to the Colorado River). You can view live exhibits and read all about the center's
activities at a small visitor center on-site. A guide will accommodate tour groups if requests are made in advance.
