Fodor's Expert Review Zia Diner
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
In a renovated coal warehouse from the 1880s, this quirky diner with a low-key, art-deco-style interior serves comfort food with a twist (green-chile-piñon meat loaf, for example). Stop in for a full meal or just snack on their classic banana split with homemade hot fudge sauce. Zia's Cobb salad is one of the best in town, and the amazingly fluffy corn, green chile, and Asiago pie served with a mixed green salad is hard to match. There's a small patio and a friendly bar known for its tasty mixed drinks and personable bartenders. Breakfast here is great start to the day: try the smoked-salmon eggs Benedict.
