Ski Areas

Cranmore Mountain Resort. This fun-to-ski area has been a favorite with families since it opened in 1938. Most runs are naturally formed intermediates that weave in and out of glades. Beginners have several slopes and routes from the summit; experts must be content with a few short, steep pitches. Snowboarders can explore five different terrain parks. A mountain coaster, a tubing park, a giant swing, and a zipline provide additional entertainment. Night skiing is offered on Saturday and holidays. Facilities: 56 trails; 170 acres; 1,200-foot vertical drop; 9 lifts. 1 Skimobile Rd., North Conway, New Hampshire, 03860. 800/786–6754; www.cranmore.com. Lift ticket: $89.
