Fodor's Review

Today's "Trop" (as its been known for more than 50 years) features some of the most spacious rooms in town with a pleasant (and whitewashed) South Beach, Miami, style. Considering it was one of the original Strip casinos, the Trop desperately needed the exhaustive multi-billion overhaul it has been receiving since 2010. The latest addition, the Sky Villa Suites, are located on the 20th floor of the Paradise tower and offer floor-to-ceiling windows that look out on the

Strip. The casino, also bathed in white, is small but intimate, with a fun poker room and a rollicking (computerized) sports book. The Tropicana Pool is a throwback in the sense that it's a renovated version of the hotel's original; the Havana Room and Beach Club is an invite-only offering that is part of the same complex.
