Why We Like It

The Tropicana is an older property that has successfully updated its rooms and amenities to modern-day standards.

Fodor's Expert Review

One of the oldest properties still on the Las Vegas Strip, The Tropicana doesn't look like much from the outside. However, it offers quality rooms and affordable prices.

Room

Their standard room is 375-square-feet and channels sunset vibes with neutral browns and reds. Plantation shutters help let light in when you want it or keep light out when you don't. Custom furniture keeps the space functional.

Bathroom

Deluxe suites have vibrant fun shower tiles that give the entire bathroom life and style. The standard room is more plain, but still serviceable and decently sized, especially for the age of the entire property.

Lobby

The Tropicana lobby was updated back in 2012. It features colorful recessed lighting and a textured backsplash that will get you thinking about the pool.

Pool

This pool will take you back to the 1950s. The pool is apparently where swim-up blackjack originated and until recently visitors could still partake. However, as of May 2018, the swim-up blackjack area was closed for construction.

Tip Locals get free entry by showing their Nevada ID.

Spa

Glow Spa & Salon offers is open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. and boasts nine private treatment rooms.

Gym

Located near the conference center, the fitness center overlooks the pool area.

Dining

Robert Irvine’s Public House is massive and offers comfort food in a pub-like setting.

Drinking

If you like your cocktails frosty, visit Chill’m. Be sure to get a souvenir glass. For something less novel, Tropicana Lounge is a traditional casino bar option.

Restaurants

MGM Grand across the street has a variety of options.

Bars

You might call the Las Vegas Strip one big, enormous bar. There are lots of drinking options. Just walk down Las Vegas Boulevard!
