Here's something different: a contemporary version of a Jewish delicatessen. How refreshing to have genuinely lean corned beef, a modest slice of cheesecake, low-sugar homemade borscht, and a lovely whitefish-salad sandwich. Believe breakfast is the most important meal? It's served all day. Weekend brunch time can bring hour-long waits for a plate of the area's best pancakes, though.

Again, not a serious threat to New York's great delis, but a respectable option for sit-down non-kosher deli food, arguably best loved for its stuffed French toast (Please note: Michael's Deli has the best deli food in Brookline but a grubbier atmosphere and less extensive menu). A respectable, if rather pricey, choice in the area.
