Fodor's Review

Old Shanghai meets stylish South Boston at TV-star chef Ming Tsai's uber-popular Asian gastropub, set in an abandoned triangular diner in the Fort Point neighborhood. The cool younger brother of Tsai's more elegant first restaurant, Blue Ginger, Blue Dragon has all the auspicious feng shui elements in tact: wooden furniture; a mirrored waterfall by the tree trunk bar; and a dragon weather vane to elevate the squat white-brick building. Folks regularly form lines around the block in order to slurp up Tsai's East-meets-West cocktails and share succulent braised short-rib pot stickers, lobster banh mi (traditional Vietnamese sandwiches made with pâté and pickled vegetables), spicy noodle salads, and tiny teriyaki bison cheeseburgers. Tsai even raided his mother's recipe box to recreate her ever-popular salt-and-pepper shrimp.
