Fodor's Expert Review Hendricks-Beall Home Bed and Breakfast
620 W. Main St., Madison, Indiana, 47250, USA
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
A fine example of Italianate architecture, dating back to 1858, this place offers just three rooms, which have been lovingly restored by the Beall family. Each has a different themed decor, such as safari, Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, and an homage to the home's former owner. All feature private baths. Piano and flute music plays in the parlor nightly. A full breakfast is served daily at 8:30 in the dining room.
PROS
- owners Stan and Dawn love to dish out shopping, dining, and sightseeing recommendations—they've even counted the number of steps to several destinations
- historic Madison just a few blocks away
CONS
- bathrooms have either bath or shower, never both
