My Island Bed & Breakfast Inn Review

This three-story, family-operated inn is in a historic home built in 1886 by the Lyman missionary family and set on a 7-acre botanical estate. The oldest in Volcano, the home features a bedroom and bath on each floor, and a 19th-century Franklin fireplace in the living room. The community Internet room is free to guests, plus free Wi-Fi is available throughout. Also on property are three garden units with private entrances and bathrooms—two of the rooms have private patios. There's also a guesthouse on its own acre, offering two bedrooms with private decks, a children's room, living room with wood-burning fireplace, and large kitchen. You won't start the day hungry after an all-you-can-eat deluxe Continental breakfast.

The gardens are beautiful, the location can't be beat, and the hosts were friendly and knowledgeable. The room we stayed in, however, was a little shabby. To give you an idea, it had a rather noisy humidifier that we had to empty ourselves a couple of times. Not really what I expect when I'm staying in a hotel.
