Fodor's Review

This three-story, family-operated inn occupies a historic home built in 1886 by the Lyman missionary family and set on a 7-acre botanical estate. The oldest in Volcano, the home features a bedroom and bath on each floor. The community Internet room is free to use, and free Wi-Fi is available throughout. Also on property are three garden units with private entrances and bathrooms—two of the rooms have a shared patio; one has its own kitchenette. There's also a guesthouse

on its own acre, offering two bedrooms with private decks, a children's room, living room with wood-burning fireplace, and large kitchen. The all-you-can-eat deluxe Continental breakfast is a satisfying start to the day.

Don't expect too much

The gardens are beautiful, the location can't be beat, and the hosts were friendly and knowledgeable. The room we stayed in, however, was a little shabby. To give you an idea, it had a rather noisy humidifier that we had to empty ourselves a couple of times. Not really what I expect when I'm staying in a hotel.
