Fodor's Expert Review Datz Tampa
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Fans of a hearty meal will be happy here—the eclectic menu (printed on tabloid paper, an indication of how much it changes) mostly consists of massive sandwiches and hefty plates. The show-stealer here is the Cheesy Todd, a hamburger patty sandwiched between two deep-fried mounds of bacon-jalapeño mac-and-cheese. But the story doesn't end with the entrées. For starters, when you walk into this spot, the first thing you'll probably notice (aside from the vintage decor) is the chocolate counter. If you mosey over to the bar, you'll find some very special craft cocktail concoctions. If you happen to stop in during the breakfast hour, check out the amazing offerings at the adjacent bakery, Datz Dough, where the massive baked goods (Fruity Pebble–coated donuts, for example) are worth the stop.
