Why We Like It

These roomy condos offer loads of space for the family to spread out, plenty of bathrooms, and the convenience of having a kitchen. With other great features like the fun pool area, free Wi-Fi and shuttle service to all of the major parks, this lodging offers great value.

Fodor's Expert Review

This pleasant, two- and three-bedroom condo resort is about halfway between Universal Orlando and Disney World, with six six-story buildings, two pools, a game room, gym, business center, and café with room service. The condos are constantly being upgraded, and a market café in the lobby offers basic groceries, a boon, as the resort is located on a rural stretch of International Drive. Shuttles take guests to Disney, Universal, SeaWorld, and Aquatica, and a trolley takes guests the length of I-Drive for a small fee.

You Should Know A very modest resort fee includes in-room Wi-Fi, self-parking, local calls, access to the fitness center, and shuttle services to all of the major parks.

Room

The spacious condos feature a living area, a dining area, and two or three separate bedrooms, with king-size and full-sized beds that have white, duvet style linens. The resort updated the flooring in early 2018, putting hardwood floors into the common spaces in the condos, and new carpets in the bedrooms. Two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, pod-style coffeemaker, a washer/dryer, Wi-Fi, and complimentary detergent, dishwasher soap and dish liquid make this a home away from home. The living area features a large, flat screen TV, and each of the bedrooms has a separate TV. A furnished balcony overlooks either the pool or the lake.

You Should Know As this is a condo, not a hotel, the cleaning staff only do deep cleaning once a week. The daily "refresh" service includes making beds, emptying trash, and replenishing towels and bath amenities.

Bathroom

The master bathroom features a separate jet tub and shower with a peekaboo window from the tub into the master bedroom, and a granite vanity with ample counter space. The second bathroom contains a more traditional shower/tub combination and a smaller vanity.

Lobby

The lobby features marble columns, floral arrangements in large vases, metal scroll-work on the reception desks, and a wood-paneled ceiling with a huge marble-glass chandelier. Ample seating areas consist of overstuffed armchairs and coffee tables, all of which give an upscale sensibility to this area. A sundries shop and a generous video game room are just off the main lobby.

Pool

The main pool area is large and has a Jacuzzi and a play area for kids featuring spraying fountains and a splash pool. Palm trees provide occasional shade, and numerous lounge chairs are available. Family friendly activities around the pool include crafts, live music, and movies. The second pool area is smaller and quieter and mainly for adults to relax. This pool also has a Jacuzzi located nearby.

Spa

No spa.

Gym

In a rather cramped room you will find treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, weight/resistance machines and mats. The area has TVs, towels and a water cooler.

Dining

The only on-site option is the Palm Café & Marketplace near the pool, serving light breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Grab and go items are also available for your convenience. Room service is available 24-hours a day.

Tip An excellent Publix grocery market is nearby, where you will find more affordable grocery options for stocking your kitchen.

Drinking

The full bar near the pool serves cocktails, beer and wine.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

While the resort does offer shuttle transportation to the theme parks, it is through a third party, and the buses are often full, and take a long time to get to the parks, and stop at other resorts along the way. The I-Ride Trolley stops out front, and provides transportation along International Drive for a small daily fee. A car would be the most convenient way to get around, but ride share services or taxis are also available.

Restaurants

The closest and most convenient area for restaurants is International Drive, which is home to dozens of chain eateries serving everything from burgers to pizza to tacos to American home-style comfort food. Pointe Orlando(12-minute drive) offers the densest concentration of upscale restaurants, including The OceanAir Seafood Room, where seafood is king; Capital Grille, a classic chop and steakhouse; the atmospheric Cuba Libre Restaurant and Rum Bar. Farther along I-Drive, The Boston Lobster Feast (14-minute drive) is exactly what its name implies, an all you can eat seafood feast, including lobster. Look for the giant, red lobster consuming a small car. Shake Shack (16 minute drive) is a popular American burger spot.

Bars

International Drive has a huge number of watering holes, and also offers the convenience of I-Ride Trolley transportation. The choices range from chains like TGI Fridays (5-minute drive) to the sophisticated Blue Martini (12-minute drive) For an evening of Latin dancing and live revue shows, check out Mango’s Tropical Cafe, (15-minute drive).
