Fodor's Expert Review Slater Memorial Museum & Converse Art Gallery

Norwich History Museum

Editor's Note: This property is currently undergoing renovations.

On the Norwich Free Academy campus, this museum's permanent collection features 150 plaster casts of some of the world's greatest Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Italian Renaissance sculptures, including Winged Victory (the Nike of Samothrace), Venus de Milo (Aphrodite of Milos), and Michelangelo's Pietà. The Converse Art Gallery, adjacent to the museum, hosts six to eight shows a year, many of which showcase Connecticut artists and craftsmen, as well as student work.
