Women's Building Review

The cornerstone of the female-owned and -run businesses in the neighborhood, this place has held workshops and conferences of particular interest to women since 1979. The exterior is the reason to visit: its two stories are completely covered with an impressive mural, Maestrapeace, depicting women's peacekeeping efforts over the centuries. Inside are offices for many social and political organizations; the center also sponsors talks and readings by writers such as Alice Walker and Angela Davis.
