A jarrito is an earthenware cup used for drinking tequila and other beverages in Mexico. You'll see plenty of these small traditional mugs hanging from the ceiling and decorating the walls in this old-time, sun-filled, family-run restaurant. At brunch, try the hearty chilaquiles, made from day-old tortillas cut into strips and cooked with cheese, eggs, chilies, and sauce. Or order eggs scrambled with cactus and served with freshly made tortillas. On weekend evenings adventurous eaters may opt for birria, a spicy meat stew, or menudo, a tongue-searing soup made from tripe, calf's foot, and hominy. The latter is a time-honored hangover cure. Bring plenty of change for the jukebox loaded with Latin hits.
