Fodor's Expert Review Chino

If you think Chinese food needs to loosen up, here's your dream destination. Chino has all the playfulness of its sister restaurant Tacolicious, only it’s wandered into dumpling territory. There are about a half dozen of those choices, like shanghai soup dumplings, and the nicely spiced steamed shrimp wontons. The yuba noodle salad bursts with cilantro and sesame oil. The decor is whimsical, with balloon-sized paper lanterns and sneakers hanging from light fixtures. This is all paired with boba drinks gone boozy. The place is very loud and popular with the Mission District bar-crawling crowd, but takeout is offered; and there's even a dumpling-centric menu for kids.
