Fodor's Review:

Souvenir shops, a psychic adviser, carnival games, arcades, eateries, and Pacific Park are all part the festive atmosphere of this truncated pier at the foot of Colorado Boulevard below Palisades Park. The pier's trademark 46-horse Looff Carousel is the Pier's hallmark, built in 1922, has appeared in several films, including The Sting. Free concerts are held on the pier in summer.

  • Cost: Rides $2.50
  • Open: Carousel hours vary depending on season and weather conditions, so call ahead.

You can rent two bikes for $15 for one hour. The rental places are on the left side of the pier a couple blocks down the beach. Get a lock with the bikes in case you want to stop at one of the many shops. Bike along the beach on the cement trail. The pier is beautiful with Bubba Gump Shrimp (good - not great) and other restaurants and amusement area. Don't miss the Carousel which is in an enclosed room torward the front of the Pier.
